Articles of Opinion
Here are my articles. Mostly, they are my observations and/or opinions on different topics. I do not claim to be an expert on any specific subject, but I think I know what I'm talking about.

Some GarageBand fun
Here are some things that make GarageBand work for me better.
- If the softsynth sounds thin or small, put a chorus on it and bump up the reverb. This will thicken the sound.
- Reverb not quite what you want? Standard echo doesn't work for you? Display the master track (from the Track menu), double click on it and and change the Echo and Reverb settings under the edit button. Don't increase the sliders unless you want to send EVERYTHING in the project through those effects. Note that the Echo settings look just like the Track Echo settings.
- Drums sound tin-ney or thin? Put a small amount of reverb and kick in the EQ to boost the bass. Still not what you are looking for? Try adding compression or overdrive.
- You want a delay that bounces from left to right? Go to expert sleepers and pick up a free pingpong or multitap delay.
- If the above didn't answer it, yes GarageBand supports plug-ins. Specifically AudioUnit plugins.
- Can you use VSTs with GarageBand? Well, looky here at fxpansion.com and check out the AU-to-VST adapter.
- I don't want 4/4 time! Ok, create a new projects, and change set it there. GarageBand does not support tempo changing within an existing song (either as 2 or more separate tempos or to even change it at all -- so far as I've found.).
- GarageBand does not support MIDI out. There are some AudioUnits to try out if you want. Search the web.
- What is DLSMusicDevice for? That is actually a General MIDI sample kit. Kinda like a soundfont file. But, you have to send it program change via a separate device to change what sound is actually played.
