Articles of Opinion
Here are my articles. Mostly, they are my observations and/or opinions on different topics. I do not claim to be an expert on any specific subject, but I think I know what I'm talking about.

Hardware I Use
Here is a list of my current hardware I use. See the "Software I've Used" section for the apps and plugins I use.
Synthesizers
- Roland SH-32
- This was my first hardware synth. I got the store model from Mars Music in Tampa when it closed. Very nice synth.
- E-mu Xtreme Lead 1 (XL-1)
- This was my second synth purchase. Some nice sounds, but a bear to create new ones. Go grab the Proteum patch editor to make your life easier.
- Novation A-Station
- This is an awesome analog modeling synth. I especially recommend going to the Novation website and getting the 2.x series OS updates. Fixes a very nasty MIDI sync pop-and-click issue.
- Korg microKorg
- I got this at the same time as the A-Station. It can use MS2000 patches and Korg puts out a decent editor for it. Plus, it runs on batteries! (or A/C adapter)
- Yamaha Motif Rack ES
- This is by far the most expensive piece of kit I own. Purchased one year after the A-Station and the microKorg (work bonus:P). I am still getting the hang of this unit. The sounds are quite astonishing. (Got mine on sale for $899 at Guitar Center. Even now it is $1099 everywhere else.)
Other Hardware
- Alto S-12 Mixer
- This augmentent a Gem Sound DMX-5 DJ mixer. Mixes audio. Has some nice features (like it takes a standard PC power cord).
- Behringer Eurorack UB502
- Replaced a Gem Sound DMX-5 DJ mixer. I needed something physically smaller and this fit the bill. At $35 bucks not bad. (as long as the AC adapter doesn't take a dive).
Here is a list of some other instruments I've played in the past.
- Clarinet
- Piano
- Guitar
- Dumbek (tabla) & Djembe
I have never become an expert of any of these, but I still have fun.
